Despite having the same title, this exercise showcases the impact that design holds on one’s impression of product target market.

For example, the cartoon-like illustrative style of Concept #1 eludes to the idea that the magazine is targeted towards children, whereas the mature, whilst still contemporary, design style of Concept #2  infers that the magazine will appeal to an older demographic, perhaps to young adults in particular.
